Stop Calling Emily Ratajkowski the Blurred Lines Girl
This really should be the last time you're introduced to Emily Ratajkowski in a story as the model who, in the white-hot video for last summer's hit "Blurred Lines," danced nearly naked around Robin Thicke like he was made of bacon. That's because Ratajkowski has booked a second legit feature film role, opposite Zac Efron in We Are Your Friends, for which MTV's Catfish co-creator and star Max Joseph will make his feature directorial debut. Still, Ratajkowski will surely dance again - this time in the proximity of Efron, who plays a DJ and Hollywood nightlife prowler who falls for an older scenester's much-younger girlfriend. The film shoots in August, two months before we'll see Ratajkowski in David Fincher's Gone Girl, which also stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, based on the Gyllian Flynn bestseller and widely considered in the awards hunt. Fincher told GQ that earlier this month that Affleck thought of Ratajkowski as the two were brainstorming who should play his young mistress; they wanted someone who would divide the audience along gender lines. "Like the girl in the 'Blurred Lines' video!" was the line that came tumbling out of Affleck; the rest is history. She started modeling at age 14 and appeared on two episodes of iCarly in 2009 and 2010, as well as an episode of New Girl last September. So. Are we all in agreement that she's more than just the "Blurred Lines" girl now? Great.
