The Good Wife Season 6, Episode 6 Recap "Old Spice"
"I don't like pretending to be someone I'm not," says Alicia Florrick midway through "Old Spice," the sixth episode of the current season of The Good Wife. While Alicia may be pretending to be a questioning agnostic now, she is no longer "Pretending" to be a politician. In Sunday's episode, Alicia proved she's ready to do what she needs to do to win the race for State's Attorney. While Cary spent the episode drifting and Alicia kissed the ring of Pastor Jeremiah, Diane went to war against her former firm and behind enemy lines at their offices. Diane's battle was victorious, and the retaking of the Lockhart Gardner offices by Diane and Alicia produced one of the most poignant scenes of the season. Diane offers to take Will's old office so that Alicia won't have to stay there with her memories, but Alicia refuses. Earlier in the episode, she tensed when Pastor Jeremiah asked her about Will's death, but in his office, she finally looks at peace. With Alicia possibly leaving the firm they started together, what will the future hold for Cary? His pre-trial service officer, though she got him re-arrested, is one of the only people who may be able to keep him grounded as he keeps spinning out.
