Chris Rocks SNL monologue: He jokes about Boston marathon and 9/11
Chris Rock is a comedian who pushes boundaries, and that was certainly true when he returned to "Saturday Night Live" as host this weekend. In his opening monologue, Rock made jokes that touched on the 2013 Boston marathon bombings and the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. "But hey, the good people of Boston bounced back," Rock said. Freedom Tower and 9/11. Rock also talked about New York's strength after 9/11, pointing to the opening of One World Trade Center, formerly known as the Freedom Tower, at the site where the Twin Towers once stood. Rock tried to make clear that he wasn't joking about the terrorist attack itself - "I'm not joking about 9/11," he said - but then predicted that the Sept. 11 date would soon lose its solemn significance in the future. The rest of Rock's monologue included jokes about the commercialization of Christmas and the politics of gun control. A sketch later in the show featured Rock and an "SNL" cast member as ISIS militants seeking business deals on the show "Shark Tank.". What did you think of Chris Rock on "SNL"?
